What are the potential drawbacks of EVs?
Higher list prices
EVs are typically more expensive to purchase than their petrol or diesel equivalents, so it’s worth considering finance options which allow you to spread the cost over an agreed term and mileage (and balance it against lower running costs).
Range
Long-distance drivers can be wary of EVs due to concerns about how far they'll get on a single charge. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that EV battery technology has rapidly improved in recent years, so this is much less of a problem than it once was.
Charging infrastructure
Variable charging time means that you’ll need to think about the right balance between minimizing downtime (e.g. through using Rapid charge points) and paying lower charge tariffs.
